Computer Programmer: Vast role in Business Industry

First, let us tackle down the definition of computer programming. Computer programming is a process of writing data, debugging codes, troubleshooting, and maintaining the source codes of computer programs. It is also known as writing instructions, which makes the computer follow and function based on the coded instructions.

Now, how does computer programming work?

Basically, instructions are composed of a series of on and off commands that a computer follows by sending these commands to the processor which in turn, switches on and off according to the code received. On and off commands are written in programming language is represented by 1 for on and 0 for off. This coding was developed in the early stages of computer programming, it is simple and easy to create. An example of a program would look like this "1010100100101111010101010101".

In these age of high technology, computer programmers are very in demand. Business companies, small and large, have a need for their expertise.

Computer programmers are grouped into two broad types. Application programmers usually focus on business, engineering, and/ or science. They also develop programs to handle specific jobs like tracking inventory within an organization. And, revise existing package software as needed. While system programmers maintain and control computer system software, such as operating systems, network systems and database systems. They make changes in the sets of instructions that determine how the network, workstations and central processing units (CPU). They also handle various jobs in relation to peripheral equipment, such as terminals, printers, and disk drives.

Without these workers or what we call computer programmers, business industries would never be successful. They are the ones who maintain the computer systems that help in running business transactions smoothly.

Google’s Latest Widget: Unethical?

Google has its newest map widget called Street View. Critics have claimed that it has questionable ethics. Street view is an option on Google Maps that gives you a view from street level of the address that you’re searching for. Before you can access the “Street View” , you have to go to Google Maps first, then, click Street View on the upper right corner (not all cities have it- try San Francisco or New York), and you can get a little icon shaped like a human that you can move around the city grid.

If you move the human into a certain place, click it, and then you will suddenly find yourself looking at a picture of the houses on the street. You can also navigate down the block with arrows, even turning your point of view left or right to get a full 360-dgree view of the spot.

I think street view is really unethical because people have a right to privacy. The images found on Street View were taken by camera mounted on a roving van some months ago and then later, “knitted” together creating an illusion that you’re seeing a current image of the streets. This means that a person’s privacy is invaded. Images captured secretly and broadcasted publicly. This kind of conduct seems in violation of human rights, even if privacy laws weren't written with Street View in mind.

The relevance of human rights in the new generation has often been offended by a highly evolved. Nowadays, some people use technology in a wrong way because of it` s seemingly super power capabilities.

We all know that almost everything in this world rely on technology and people benefit from its advancement, that is, if we used

it proper way, not unethical, always with decency, and consideration for every human being in this world.
